1. To encourage and support indigenous civil society including women, rural residents, economically and politically disadvantaged groups, and youth) to better advocate for improved government services and to play an increasingly effective role in good governance.
2. To promote civic education and indigenous women participation in civics, democratic processes, volunteerism, and community service.
3. To promote the equal rights of all citizens especially indigenous women and the empowerment of vulnerable and marginalized groups within political and societal structures.
4. To enhance indigenous women’s participation in decision making and peace building.
5. To increase income earning opportunities for women through supporting indigenous smallholder women farmers, and building and strengthening micro enterprises and cooperatives
Indigenous women and people with disabilities are particularly at risk for poverty, unstable economies, gender-based violence, discrimination, and a lack of access to health care and land rights.
